Called in the morning and made a 1 p.m. appointment for installation. I was told to bring my car around to the back bays.

At 1 p.m. I was parked in front of the back bays. Doors were closed. I honked the horn; no reaction.

I drove the car back to the front and parked. I walked through from the front door of the store to the back of the store to the sales desk. The door to the bays was immediately beside the sales desk. I told the man at the desk that I had a 1 p.m. appointment but that the bays were closed.

His reply: “of course”. I asked him what that meant, reminding him that I had an appointment. He had no answer.

The technician came along and unlocked the door to the bays. We went inside and he then told me to come back in one hour.

I sat in the main store and read until one hour had passed.

I went back to the sales desk where the technician again unlocked the door to the bays. I went through the door and stood directly beside my car. I said let me pay by credit card, and I will leave.

A new person was on the scene: I was told he was the store manager. His name is Wayne Collins. Both he and the technician told me that I would have to walk back through the store out the front door, across the width of the store, around the side to the back and enter through a small door to the bays. I found this incredible. I was standing right beside my car. They wanted me to walk the entire length of the store to the front, across the width of the store, and then the entire length of the store outside to the back.

This was totally unreasonable since I was standing right next to my car. Both the technician in the store manager told me “it’s the store rule; you must go around the building and come back”. I am not an imposing or threatening figure at 5′11″ and 150 pounds. I told them that I was recovering from prostate cancer, that I was 75 years old, and that I had a condition in my left leg that caused me to walk with a limp and made walking uncomfortable.

They simply repeated each time I spoke that it was the company rule and I had to walk around. They were smiling and obviously having a good time playing with me. So I walked all the way around, paid and took my car.

But I am not forgetting this treatment.
